This Engine was put in service and dedicated to the memory of Captain Mark Kelsey in October 2007. Mark lost his life at the Sofa Super Store fire in Charleston, June 18, 2007.

Retired Engine 102


1984 Ford D800 Firetruck

Retired Engine 102 was equipped with a 429 gasoline engine, 1000 gpm pump, 750 gallon water tank, booster reels and 5" supply line.

This Engine was retired from active service from our department in November 2007.

Retired Engine 102 was donated to the Dorchester Career and Technology School to be used to support the Fire Science Training Classes. While no longer serving as a front line Engine running calls, the school uses this truck to demonstrate and train young people for a career in the fire service. Retired Engine 101


1978 Chevrolet C60

The First Engine assigned to the Ashley River Fire District, Engine 101 was equipped with a 426 gasoline engine, 4 speed manual transmission, 1000 gpm John Bean pump, 750 gallon water tank, 2 booster reels, 1 1/2" attack lines and 3" supply line. This pumper ran thousands of calls in the 28 years it was in service.

Engine 101 was retired in October 2007 at the memorial ceremony for Captain Mark Kelsey who lost his life at the Sofa Super Store Fire, June 18, 2007. The new Engine 101 dubbed "Trunk Monkey" is a 2007 Ferrara Intruder Custom Rescue Pumper.

This Engine now has a new home as a display piece at La T Da's Garden Creations in Boiling Springs, SC.
