Mr. Ed Davis, ARFD Board of Directors  04/24/2008

Mr. Davis was a member of the department for over 10 years, serving as Board Chariman, Vice Chair, Treasurer and Secretary.  He provided a tremendous amount of guidance and leadership to the department including performing the final acceptance inspections on our newest additions to the fleet.  Mr Davis lost his battle with cancer on April 24, 2008.  

Captain Mark Kelsey      6/18/2007

Mark was a member of the department for over 16 years.  He started as a probationary firefighter and moved quickly through the ranks to become an Officer and Fire Investigator.  Mark lost his life at the Sofa Super Store fire In Charleston, SC on June 18, 2007.

Mrs. Margie B. Stephens  May 5, 1999

Margie Stephens was one of the founding members of the ARFD Ladies Auxiliary.  She organized and coordinated many fundraisers including yard and bake sales, quilt raffles and much more.  These efforts were especially important in the early years of the mostly volunteer fire department.  Margie would also respond to scenes to provide support to weary firefighters.   Department members dedicated the Firefighter of the Year Award to her by renaming it the "Margie B. Stephens Firefighter of the Year Award" in recognition of her dedication to the well being of this department.
